Finally Arrived - December 28th - January 4th

Day 1 - Arrival
Motherland team will be waiting for you outside the arrival hall. Look out for a placard with Motherland Tours written on it (Notice the Green Logo). We head straight to the beach for your first feel of the Atlantic sea breeze, something to bite on and overview of what to expect on this tour. From here we do a little site seeing on our way to your residence. We are fully aware this was a long flight so relax a bit, freshen up or go as you are - if you like to. We will pick you up again in the evening back into town.
2nd. Day
Accra City Tour; we will pick you up after breakfast and head to Achimota – meaning “speak no name” or “tell nobody”. This area of the Greater Accra Region of Ghana in the pre-colonial years used it’s forbidden forest as a “silent refuge” for runaway slaves. Achimota also houses one of the prestigious coeducational boarding school. From here we head towards Kwame Nkrumah Circle then to the Mausoleum, working our way to James Town’s old light house, the Fort James, to the fishing harbor, then back to Accra Central. It’s a full day, so wear something comfortable.
3rd Day
Castles and dungeons – here we come! We are heading to Elmina today, this place acted as a depot for African slaves – see it, feel it. Next we head to Cape Coast. We may stop at the town of Abandzee, where you can the see the sea from the top of the hill. We may also stop at one of the many beaches along the way after, we drive up to Kakum Canopy walk.
4th. Day
End of year, today we are staying in Accra, you have the day to do as you wish (free style). Motherland team is organizing dinner for the evening, don’t be surprised if you hear drums. While you wait, you can hit the town, we are here to help, book a shopping assistant in advance, but be sure to return before dinner.
5th. Day
Mountain: Today we are driving up the Aburi mountain. We may stop at the Aburi botanical gardens on our way back and do a little wine tasting. We head to Koforidua Beads Market, and then Boti water falls.
6th. Day
African art lovers: Today we are visiting the art centers in Accra. We are doing all things African. From the art pieces we place in our homes, keep as souvenirs, give away as gifts, to trying local and traditional foods – we’ve got you covered. We will return early to allow you time to pack – Oops! Sorry it’s almost time to fly back. At 7pm get ready for our farewell dinner.
7th. Day
Even though this is your final day and you probably still have a lot to pack, we won’t allow you to rest, hope you get to sleep on your flight. We’ve got one final surprise for you! After that you can relax until it’s time to head to the airport. Yep! You’re going to love it.
