Explore Liberty (Liberia) January 7th - 14th

This sweet land of liberty became the first African nation in 1847 started by freed slaves, and blacks returning to the motherland. Come explore and relive history with us as we tour and service the people of this land after its long ended civil war

Day of Arrival
You arrive at Roberts International airport in Monrovia, Liberia. We start our city tour right away, experience or view the amazing way Keke (local taxi) maneuvers amongst bikes, cars, and people.

2nd Day
Tours - you guessed right, we start this tour at the very place that holds the rich history of this “Petite America”. The Liberia National Museum was established by an Act of the National Legislature in 1958 under the administration of Liberia’s 19th. President, Dr. William VS. 19th president? Does that sound familiar – well let’s find out.

3rd Day
We will pick you up after breakfast and we head to the Free Port of Monrovia. The largest artificial harbor in West Africa. We continue to Waterside Market, traffic here is out of this world, so we’ll try to leave early and head to the hotel.

4th Day
Today we are going to Sapo National Park, established in 1983, this park houses the African civet as well as the African fish eagle. Forest elephants (Note: Forest elephants are only found in 8 African countries and Liberia has the largest) and various species of monkeys including the endangered Diana monkey. We will have lunch, take photos, and heard back to the hotel.

5th Day
Bong County here we come. If you love water and nature, let’s go to Kpatawee Waterfalls. It’s a bit of hiking and a bit of relaxation in the middle of the forest. Expect beautiful cascading waterfalls and incredible vegetation. We will finally spend a slow evening sipping on wine and having our feet rubbed.

6th Day
Today is culture day. The Liberian locals are lively and love to share their diverse cultural heritage, especially with their food. A professional chef will be teaching us how to cook some Liberian dishes, and if you feel like it, try the Liberian palm wine while you enjoy a cultural performance.

7th Day
After breakfast today we drive to Mount Wuteve. Mount Wuteve’s summit is the highest point in Liberia (1440 meters). We will be exploring cities on the out sketch of Monrovia. If you are ever considering resettling in Africa, you just might get lucky (Ask us how).

8th Day
Today is your final day. We are free to pack your things and explore some more with an assistant if needed. Please ask in advance. The bus will be arriving on time to take you to the airport.
